A Historic Venue in a Historic Location
London was announced as the second Masters host city for 2026 on October 2, 2025, just before the VALORANT Champions Finals in Paris. The Copper Box Arena — a 7,000-capacity indoor venue built for the 2012 London Olympics — is no stranger to major events. The city itself hosted the 2023 League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational and the 2024 LoL World Championship final, cementing its status as one of Europe's premier esports destinations.
For VALORANT specifically, however, London is uncharted territory. Masters London 2026 will be the game's inaugural international event on British soil — a moment the UK esports community has been waiting for since the VCT's inception.
How Teams Qualify: The Road from Stage 1
Masters London is the second international event of the 2026 VCT season, following Masters Santiago in February–March. Twelve teams qualify — three from each of the four international leagues — based on their performance in VCT Stage 1, which runs simultaneously across all four regions through May.
Americas (Los Angeles, Riot Games Arena) — top three finishers from a stacked field including G2 Esports, Cloud9, LOUD, Sentinels, NRG, 100 Thieves, Evil Geniuses, and FURIA, among others.
EMEA (Berlin, Riot Games Arena) — top three from a league featuring Fnatic, Team Liquid, Gentle Mates, NAVI, Karmine Corp, BBL Esports, Team Vitality, and GIANTX, with Eternal Fire replacing ULF Esports following a financial misconduct ruling.
Pacific (Seoul) — top three from a region headlined by Masters Santiago champions Nongshim RedForce and runner-up Paper Rex, alongside T1, Gen.G, DRX, ZETA Division, and others.
China — top three from a league that includes Bilibili Gaming — who won First Stand 2026 — alongside EDward Gaming, FunPlus Phoenix, JD Gaming, and Nova Esports.
All Stage 1 leagues run from April 1 through May 17 across all regions, with playoffs concluding before the Masters London qualification spots are finalized.
Format: Swiss Stage Into Double Elimination
Masters London uses a tried-and-tested two-phase structure.
The Swiss Stage runs June 6–10 and features eight of the twelve qualified teams — the second and third-place finishers from each region. Teams are divided into two seeding pools: Pool 1 contains the second-place finishers from each league, while Pool 2 contains the third-place finishers, creating cross-placement matchups in the opening round. All matches are Best of Three. The top four teams after three rounds advance to the playoffs.
The Playoffs run June 12–21 and feature eight teams total — the four Swiss Stage survivors joined by the four direct seeds (first-place finishers from each region, who bypass the Swiss Stage entirely). Direct seeds then get to pick their Upper Bracket Quarterfinal opponents from the advancing Swiss Stage teams in random order — a strategic wrinkle that adds an extra layer of intrigue to the bracket formation.
The playoff bracket is double elimination, with all matches Best of Three except the Lower Bracket Final and Grand Final, which are Best of Five.
Prize Pool and Championship Points
The $1 million prize pool is distributed as follows: $350,000 and 8 Championship Points for the winner, $200,000 and 6 points for second place, and $125,000 and 4 points for third. A total of 29 Championship Points are awarded across all placements.
Those Championship Points matter enormously. They feed directly into qualification for VALORANT Champions Shanghai — the season finale scheduled for September 24 through October 18 — where the VCT world champion will be crowned. Every match at Masters London is a step toward or away from that stage.
The Context: Nongshim RedForce Are Champions, But Can They Repeat?
Masters Santiago ended with Nongshim RedForce completing a historic undefeated run through the tournament, defeating Paper Rex in the Grand Final to claim the first international title of 2026. Their dominance was total — and they arrive at Stage 1 as the team everyone is gunning for.
But the VCT landscape is brutally competitive. Bilibili Gaming — who won First Stand 2026 in São Paulo — will arrive representing China's growing international ambitions. G2 Esports and Fnatic will carry EMEA's pride at home soil. And teams from every region will have had months to study Nongshim RedForce's playstyle and prepare countermeasures.
Masters London is where the 2026 season truly begins to take shape. Santiago established who the early favorites are. London will tell us whether the pecking order holds — or whether a new challenger is ready to shake everything up.
Conclusion
VALORANT Masters London 2026 is a landmark event in multiple ways — the first international VALORANT tournament in the UK, the second major step toward Champions, and arguably the most competitive field the VCT has ever assembled. Twelve teams. Sixteen days. One historic venue.
June 6 in London. The stage is set.
Twelve teams. One trophy. And England is finally on the VALORANT map. 🇬🇧
