What's New in Season 2?
 

Chapter 7 Season 2 will bring new Points of Interest, gameplay changes, and a fresh Battle Pass reflecting the rivalry theme between The Foundation and the Ice King.  

One of the most exciting new additions is the Skyzip — a new mobility device highlighted in the Season 2 launch trailer, alongside a brand new Rivalry system that looks set to shake up how players engage with seasonal challenges. 

There will also be a mid-game "new-old meta loot spot" teased by producer Ted Timmins, hinting at a revamped take on the old loot island concept or mod bench vaults. 

The Battle Pass: Eight New Skins

The Season 2 Battle Pass features eight new skins visible in the key art, including a remix of The Foundation from Chapter 3 Season 1, a new version of The Order, a fifth version of Jules, and a new iteration of the Ice King — a character many fans had been expecting on the Season 7 OG pass back in December.  

Among the newcomers spotted in the art: a frozen lady, a gamer girl, and a squid boy — all original Fortnite creations that have already sparked intense speculation in the community.

A Season That Almost Wasn't on Time

While Season 2 was originally scheduled for the beginning of March, Epic Games delayed the launch by two weeks, pushing it to March 19.  Chapter 7 Season 1, known as "Pacific Break," was already the game's longest season in six years — so the extra wait was felt by the community, though the hype it built was undeniable.

What's Coming Later in 2026?

Epic isn't slowing down. The late April and early May window is expected to bring a Star Wars crossover, continuing a tradition from previous years — and this could finally be the year players get lightsaber pickaxes. 

A Game of Thrones collaboration is also reportedly in development  , which, if it lands in Season 2, could be one of the biggest pop culture crossovers in Fortnite history.
